Term2 Week9 - Influenza A H1N1

To: Goldwin (in the CyberSpace)
From: Goldwin (on the Earth)

Good morning, Goldwin!

Influenza A H1N1 is a very long name for H1N1 and the most scientific term. H1N1 is a dangerous virus infected by... people? I don't know how it os spread, but I know it is a very dangerous virus infections.

甲流感 (jia[3]liu[2]gan[3]), what is it? 甲means A. Yes, Influenza A's A! 流感can be referred to 'virus infection of H1N1'.

The most saddening thing, that the virus has taken away so many lives. If we still let them get away scot-free, it will continue to spread and spread and spread and... spread! And kill more people. Murderers like them are frightening!

As far as I know, temperate countries in Northern and Northeastern Asia like in Japan and China, have H1N1 infections going on! Do you get what I mean? Japan and China are in Asia, which means it could spread to the Southeastern Asian Countries, which is... a fatal thing!

Oh yeah, Goldwin! I forgot to tell you something! Temperature taking! Do you know that? i hope you do! In the CyberSpace, do you often take temperature for perhaps twice a day? I hope you have it. Because of H1N1, we have to take temperature twice a day and the triggered temperature is 37.6 degrees... Celcius! Not Fahrenheit!! It could waste our time studying, waste the pen's ink, waste paper by writing on it, which could lead to... more deforestation!

What should we do? Of course you can't fight with H1N1, if not, you end up yourself letting H1N1 take your life away! However, you can take preventive measures for perhaps, like what I say... no, write just now, you can check your temperature each day by using your thermometer! Another way is, wash your hands before and after you eat. It's... oral hygiene! CyberSchool should teach you this!

Well, byebye and may we meet again! Bye Goldwin!

ByeBye,
Goldwin

T2W5- Earth Day

Imagine the Earth is dying... If the Earth dies, will there still be us? But, will the Earth die? Of course... not(!) if we start saving the Earth.

We can start saving the Earth by: Not Polluting The Environment. This sounds easy, isn't it? Pick up litter we all see on the floor and throw it away... BUT(!) who actually do such a thing? We can start doing this act and be grateful to Earth.

Deforestation... is bad! Of course! You know, when we cut trees, smoke comes out and carbon dioxide increases. Next, when (carbon dioxide is warm, that's a fact!) carbon dioxide pile up, the iceberg at the Polar Areas will melt --> water will increase --> thus, flooding a country or city. So, a small act could lead to a very big problem. However, if people don't cut trees, they will not be able to make paper for us. So, we can save paper by using both sides. And, try to reuse paper over and over again. And, reforestation is the best way to control GLOBAL WARMING.

So, all and all again, Earth Day has come up. By saving the earth is what it means to reforest. So, we can commemorate the Earth by participating the Earth Day! Recycle means to change that item into something we will use by machines, I think. Reuse is double-usage or triple-usage or more! Like the paper, when we fold into a paper crane, when we want to write something, we unfold that paper crane and write on it. Something like that!

So I really hope that all of you could do a part in saving the Earth. Thank you!!

T2W3- Improving the School

If the school is improved, then it will be:

GOOD NEWS!!

Yes, it really is good news, because our class has no air-con, only fans (referring to the object that spins and creates wind for us, not the people).

I like places like the computer lab (because of the cleanliness and cold air that fills up the whole area), the science lab (because of the scientific materials and the... clean environment too!) and the classrooms (a place to study!).

I dislike places like some of the staircases (because sometimes, I could see cockroaches and I fear them, especially when they are flying!), the... I think I only hate the few staircases.
Last time, when I was in Indonesia, our classes are filled with... Guess what? No fans, but air-cons. That's the aspect I like at my Indonesian School. Of course, that applies to all my experience.
The classrooms, staircases and... nothing else should be improved. Classrooms that installed fans should install air-cons. And staircases, P5s and P6s's classrooms can be as high as 3 and 4 floors above the ground respectively. So, if the school can afford the money to install lifts, then that would be good.
It is good if the school can install all this now... but, do they have the money? I don't think so... So that's why, the school recently organise the Air-Con Rasing Fund programme and Car Rally programme. I contributed a lot of money, up till $200, perhaps!
So, the school will still continue to do these programmes, until one day, the school is rich, with all the new-comers (new falicities, like air-cons and lifts). But at that time, I think I'm not in this school anymore...
That's... ...all? Yes! That's all!!

T2W2- Healthy Eating

Healthy Eating is important. Why? Because...
  • To get healthy!
  • To ensure your body won't get sick!

That's the lot.

I like to eat healthy things, like fruits and vegetables. Fruits I like are: grapes, oranges, bananas, pineapples, papayas, etc. That's all for fruits, only! Vegetables I like are: lettuces, cauliflowers and a few more.

They are delicious. I prefer eating fruits without putting anything else and prefer eating vegetables with something! That "something" is... What do you think?

I also like French fries, yup, the fries that is originated in France. However, are they healthy? If they are, then everyone will not get fat already... .... So, Ans: NO!!! Very easy!

Why? First of all, it uis fried, next it is added with SALT. Salt, you know that, it is unhealthy!

In Anderson, yeah, Anderson Primary School, we have a campaign called "Fruity Veggies... "Something" ". I don't know the last word: that's the problem now.

I guess, that's all!

T1W8- Silent Reading

Silent reading is very important to me, because as I read a book, there will be interesting sentences for me to learn and to use them in my composition. Even my Synthesis & Transformation and Comprehension Open-Ended can improve on it.

Silent reading happens... EVERYDAY. Why do the school choose Silent Reading and not Reading Aloud? Because Reading Aloud would create noises all around.

I like to read, especially Silent Reading. I can read on my own, without telling others about my book's content. I like to read Comic Books and Story Books. Comic Books have illustrated pictures for me to understand the story better and is funny. Some of the Story Books have pictures and some don't. Those that have pictures and no pictures are both my favourites.

According to the first paragraph, reading will improve my studies. Science books will improve on my Science. Maths on Maths, English on English and Chinese on Chinese.

I have a book to recommend and hope that it will arrive soon: Geronimo Stilton Book #37: The Race Across America. I don't know why, but this book takes too much time to be published. St. Patrick's Day is over, right? But, why does that book not published yet?

That's all!

T1W7-Activities Outside School

Activities outside school? Yes, I have one. However, do "outside school" counted as "at home". Of course...Yes!!

At home, at no fixed time, I have violin tuition. According to the previous sentence (no fixed time) tells me that there is no fixed time! It can be anytime, perhaps Thursday or Friday. But, usually, it is on Thursday. Usually about 5pm to evening. This activity will take 45 minutes.

My violin tuition consists of Theory or Practical. I had taken the Grade 2 Theory Exam and guess what? I got a high distinction. 97 marks out of 100... of course! How can it be 97 out of 200? And my latesr Grade 4 Theory Exam was held on 14 March 2009, yes, just passed by 9 days. My teacher told me that the papers are sent to England. And, the results are noted down in the Internet. Very complicated!!

These exams are important... in many ways. However, I included one only: At secondary school, a programme called Music Elective Programme will appear. I wanted to join the Music Elective Programme, so I have to pass the Grade 4 Theory Exam and my oncoming Grade 3 Practical Exam this year before it is too late.

I enjoyed this tuition a lot and my teacher will revise the Exam Pieces I will be playing in July. Maybe in July.

That's all!

T1W6-Passion For Learning

What is Passion For Learning actually? It is whether you really have the passion to learn.

FURTHER IN...

To show Passion For Learning, perhaps on a Science topic "Adaptations to The Environment", you don't understand some of the contents and you really want to learn about it and ask teacher, parents, others for help and even find information on INTERNET. That's Passion For Learning!

FURTHER FURTHER IN...

I have Passion For Learning. What proof do I have? Firstly, I have two VOCABULARY BOOKS and everytime I approached a word that I've never seen or don't know, I would check the dictionary, let it be the book dictionary or the electronic dictionary. Secondly, I have Passion For Learning, when I revise through my work. Isn't that Passion For Learning?

Okay! That's all!!

Total Defence Day

TOTAL DEFENCE DAY
This extract will tell you about - What will you defend? I don't really know what it is, however after my research of this What will you defend?, it is known that on 15 February 1942, the Japanese entered Singapore and invaded it. So, on this day, it is to remind Singaporeans to have a part to play in defending this country.
So as a part of non-Singaporean, non-Permanent Resident, I also want to play a very little part by defending the aspects of Mother Tongue.
How do I do that? As a Chinese Indonesian, I learn Chinese for my second language. Chinese is actually easier than English, because of its difference in grammar. In English, singular form must fit in to singular form, and plural to pluralk, but not in Chinese. However, to learn Chinese well, I have to learn up more than those taught ones. Actually, same goes for English. Chinese is only harder at the vocabulary section.
However, if I keep saying difficult and impossible, of course I cannot do it well. So, I keep telling myself to persevere and do not stop learning the second language. As long as I am attentive to my teachers, everything will go very well.
That is all about What will you defend? Bye for now!
